Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Updates are often performed as a last task before closing down a machine (not a restart, but done with it). This is a common scenario for me, at least. The issue is, that some times, I might be on a slow connection or the computer I am using is actually a bit slow. So, yeah, that means it takes time.

Unfortunately, I cannot leave the computer when I have initiated an upgrade, even though, I can't really use the computer *while* it is updating. And I am may only hang around it because I intend to shut it off after it is done.

Therefore, I suggest adding a tick box to the update manager that simply says 'shut down computer upon successful update'. Or basically, when the update is done (and no errors were encountered), the system will attempt to shut down (unless, of course, another application prevents it from doing so).

Perhaps, for some people, they might want to have an additional tickbox visible when they have ticked the first; 'shut down computer regardless of errors'. While this could be dangerous, some people may prefer it (and then deal with it later, eh).
