Bug Description

I have to press my computer's mute button twice to mute the volume. The first time I press mute, the volume indicator appears showing the same setting as before pressing the button. The second time I press mute, the volume indicator actually mutes the volume. This happens when I haven't recently adjusted the volume - if I continually press the mute button, the volume mutes and un-mutes correctly.

I am using Lucid on a MacBookPro1,1

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

-This is a bug and not a papercut
For further information about papercuts criteria, please read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut.

Don't worry though, this bug has been marked as "Invalid" only in the papercuts project.

affects: hundredpapercuts → gnome-settings-daemon

thank you for your bug report, what ubuntu version do you use? is that specific to the key or do you have the same issue using the indicator entry?

This only applies to when I press the key. I am using an up-to-date Lucid 10.04.
