Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
I attempted to upgrade my Karmic x86_64 install to Lucid. update-manager got partially through installing the new packages and then popped up an error message saying that the upgrade had been aborted. Unfortunately, I did not record the exact details of the error messages that were displayed. The system was left in an unusable state and I was forced to hit the reset button. When the system came back up, it booted to a text-based prompt. I was able to log in and run "sudo apt-get upgrade" which seemed to complete the upgrade fine. I'll attach the log files from /var/log/

Actually, I'm wondering if this might be a duplicate of bug 554718. It seems that the failure of policykit-1 may have caused my installation to abort?
