After upgrade to edgy xfce session fails to start

Having just upgraded to edgy, I am unable to start an xfce session. It logs me in briefly but then drops me back into gdm.
Starting a gnome session works as expected.

I have the same error.
I upgrade form dapper to egdy.
Login in xfce gives me a black screen.
Login in gnome works fine.

can you attach your ~/.config/xfce4/mcs_settings/gtk.xml file ? It may be the icon theme bug by the looks of it. Did you manage to start xubuntu edgy ?

I am afraid that I switched to ubuntu proper and no longer have the xubuntu
install around. I can't provide any further details, so feel free to close the
bug if the information I have provided is insufficient.
