[maverick] If a program is downloading, adding another task causes Software Center to freeze temporarily

The amount of time Software Center freezes increases depending on the number of tasks queued up. This only happens if a program is downloading, not installing.

Okay then has your computer been up and running for a while, if so the CPU will start to pile up and cause it to freeze, to fix this just restart your computer.

I don't think it was running for very long. But even so, it shouldn't take longer and longer just because of how long the computer has been running.

I too have the exact same problem on version 4.0.5 running in ubuntu 11.04

Is anybody experiencing this problem in recent versions of Ubuntu Software Center in Precise? I don't observer the described behavior in my testing. Therefore, I'll close this as fix released.
