Bug Description

Since I upgraded the kernel to the latest version (some minutes ago) my touchpad is reversed: by going up it goes down, by going left it goes right and the scrolling bar is on the left instead of being on the right side. It used to happen long time ago as soon as I installed ubuntu 9.10 then it disappeard as soon as I re-installed the same OS. Now it appeared again. My laptop is Sony Vaio VGN-SZ61XN/C and touchpad is Alps Pointing Device.
Many thanks,
Mario Alberto

Hi marbertone,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
