Most of issues is fixed in evolution 2.30 which is shipped in 10.10
No need for another bug duplicating of #23810 and aiming at the wrong package.

Hi Didier,

I don't think it is the wrong package. Evolution is doing its job well at other settings...

Replacint it in UNE for now is independent from getting that package actually fixed.

From Bug #568736 I was instructed to file this report.

hey Leo,
We won't replace it for maverick, see https://blueprints.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/desktop-maverick-une-app-selection and will use evolution --express option. The other part is a bug in evolution, not about the choice of setting it per default.
Anyway, the bug is invalid so I don't care against which package it is set now…
