Bug Description
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
How to reproduce:
1) Open an OO.org program & type some text. (I tested with Writer, Spreadsheet & Presentation.)
2) Does the text look grey? Try this to confirm:
2.1) Open "Format > Styles and Formatting".
2.2) Right-click the "Default" style & select "Modify...".
2.3) Select the "Font Effects" tab.
2.4) Under "Font color", select "Black".
2.5) Select "OK" & use "Undo" & "Redo" a couple times to see the difference.
3) Lose Profit!1!! from previously unrecognized default formatting sabotage to your docs! (Just kidding. Hire a temp or an illegal to clean them all up. ... Also kidding.)
This is also visible under "Tools > Options... > OpenOffice.org > Appearance > Custom colors > General > Font color". Alternate here between "Automatic" & "Black" to see the difference.

I can confirm this behaviour. The standard text colour e.g. in Impress is not black. Is there a reason for this behaviour? From a fast look at bug #159315 I don't see that this bug is a duplicate.
