Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I reckon that the (browser-like) smooth scroll option is the last eye-candy that the GNOME desktop environment still lacks. I'm sure that this would not be jerky even on netbooks. How about to include it in GNOME 3?

Thanks...

still no attention to this?????????? I don't understand... the algorhythm is as old as scrolling itself. and actully there is a window in gnome where this is already happening. this is the "about gnome" window. so obviously, the algorhthm exists in gnome. so why not to apply this also for any other window? it wouldn't need te be enabled by default, it would do if it was just possible. but it hasn't occured to anybody to make it so far.... :(

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.

yeah, it is still an issue... gnome 3 sadly doesn't come with smoothscroll, as far as I know. but I have to say that the smoothscroll in Unity 2D dashboard is terrific, that is exactly that what we are missing in our regular windows! but still I believe, it should be turnable off.
