Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-network

Go in system-->administration-->network.
Select wired connection-->proprieties.
Enter the three static IP local address, close windows and re-open it.
The last IP address (platform) has been blanked.
All Internet traffic are unable, I must use DHCP.
I'm on ubuntu 6.10 knot2 with Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit Ethernet Controller.

note : Last release of network manager seems be more stable, thanks for your work.

everytime I try to set an static IP on feisty , it ends up not setting it.
If I return to the network manager, it is back to roaming.

The only way I can setup static IPs is running ifconfig eth1 192.xxx.xxx.xxx

On a shiny new kubuntu 7.04, trying to run from cd as a live cd:
Go in system-->administration-->network.
Select wired connection-->proprieties,
I select static ip and enter all the info for ip address and dns and gateway and apply.
After I apply and exit, the network does not work, I check with ifconfig and see that the IP has reverted to
a DHCP address of 192.168.0.25 and the info I entered is gone. I re-enter the gui tool and sure enough,
it is all back to dhcp. If I use ifconfig eth0 x.x.67.242 etc... and route add commands, I can get the
network to work.
Also, as I am using a netmask/broadcast of 255.255.240.0/x.x.79.255 , I cannot easily get the gui tool to
accept that. Also the dns settings are lost so I have to do things by ip address instead of name.
I have used 6.06 and 6.10 on this same network, live from the cd without major issues, but 7.04 is
broken in this area.

To use a static IP, I have to open the Advanced settings in the Properties and change the Broadcast IP to the static IP. Then I'm connected with the static IP. However, the Broadcast value is not saved between boots and reverts to x.x.x.255. I have to change it with every boot.

Just rereading this and I believe the problem is using three static IP addresses AND DHCP. That doesn't quite make sense. The going back to roaming issue has been solved on gutsy. LaneLester may have a differnet bug entirely. Please do reopen this if I understood incorrectly. Thank you.
