Bug Description
Binary package hint: xvidcap
I can't get the sound capture working in xvidcap - tried several different sound devices in the configuration but without success.
First I had problems even with gtk-recordmydesktop where the sound quality was bad - parts missing. Then I closed Skype and that helped for gtk-recordmydesktop but within xvidcap I get no sound at all. Only some "crack"s from time to time.
I also tried starting it with
padsp xvidcap
but didn't help either. Ubuntu-restricted extras are installed.
Here is the output when starting from padsp, recording a few seconds and playing back:
padsp xvidcap

I have tried under Lucid now on another (also physical) machine without Skype ever been installed. Same issue.
