Bug Description

I have two computers connected to an Ubuntu One Account and they have not worked correctly since updating to 10.04, In both cases I did a new full install. I have tried various things, including copying the files by flash disk into the U1 folder, trying different network providers, un-installing and reinstalling U1, unregistering computers and re-registering but while some files sync, others do not. The u1 icon in nautilus on both computers is permanently set on the emblem "ubuntuone-unsynchronized".

Currently my desktop is showing all files synced, but the u1 icon is still wrong. My Netbook (this computer) will not sync and has not uploaded a new file I created. I believe both computers are not working correctly.

I have been advised to file a separate bug report from the others I find, and will attach the debug files later from this computer.

Thank you for your help,

Garvan

I appreciate the frustration you are experiencing. The Lucid release brought a record number of new users. It overwhelmed the U1 servers. The U1 team is working hard to fix the slow system performance. That being said, there was something client side I noticed.

UbuntuOneUserSyncdaemonConfig:
 [bandwidth_throttling]
 read_limit = 2097152
 write_limit = -1

The write_limit is -1. To fix this close Ubuntu one Preferences. Then open a Terminal. Run the following command to close the syncdaemon:

u1sdtool -q

Then remove the config. It will be recreated the next time you launch Ubuntu One.:

rm ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf

Then restart Ubuntu One as usual.

thank you ,

duanedesign,

Thank you for your help. My Netbook has now synced fully, downloading the remaining three files from U1 and updating the icons correctly.

I tried the same thing with my desktop, but it is still giving problems. U1 icon shows the un-synced emblem. and one file has not been downloaded even though Ubuntiu One Preferences reports all files are synced.

garvan@dell-desktop:~$ u1sdtool -s
State: QUEUE_MANAGER
    connection: With User With Network
    description: processing queues
    is_connected: True
    is_error: False
    is_online: True
    queues: IDLE

I think the best thing to do is file a new bug report for the desktop, and hope something turns up in the logs.

Thank you for your help,
