"Capture Area" does not highlight the area to be captured.

In Ubuntu's built-in "Take Screenshot" tool, you can choose the option "select area to grab". This allows you to drag a box around a particular area, which is highlighted as you drag. This area will be what the screenshot is taken of.

Lookit allows the same functionality, but does not highlight the area.

I'd take screenshots for comparison, but that's getting a bit too meta for me.

Here's a video of the bug occuring. First, I take a screenshot with Ubuntu's built-in tool (turns out I was wrong--it outlines the area, rather than highlighting it). Second, I take a screenshot with Lookit (no outline or highlight).

scrot -s provides the functionality we're looking for and I believe lookit uses scrot in some way (although it doesn't pull it in as a dependency)

Area selection is basically an ugly hack right now which I settled on to get basic functionality up and running at the time, but I'm working hard on reimplementing it properly for my next release.

Just fyi - I've gotten the selection rectangle drawing using a patch that someone proposed for merge, but it broke a few other things, so I'm trying to hand port the patch (it rewrote a lot of the screencapper class that I wanted to keep)

The latest trunk version should work in theory but it's not actually drawing anything, so I'll be working on it over the coming days.
