Cannot change workspace and Alt+Tab is not usable if visual effects are enabled

This happens in Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Version but not in Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix
Using Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2

When visual effects are enabled, Alt+Tab has no effect
and I cannot change from workspace 1 to any other workspace.

With Ubuntu 11.04, Alt+Tab & workspace change work well in Unity...
