Whenver I am trying to install kile, ubuntu crashed and I am not able to log in next time. This happened three times and with ubuntu 10.04 as well as 8.1 version.Please Help.

I am using a laptop with intel processor(1.73 Ghz,dual core) and with 1.5 GB RAM. I have alloted 20GB space for Ubuntu 8.1 and file format is ext3.
