Bug Description

Binary package hint: jetty

According to the description on an older version of jetty-extra (see here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/jetty-extra), the JAAS modules used to be included in this package. Apparently this is no longer the case. So trying to use the official documentation for LDAP authentication with Jetty (see here: http://docs.codehaus.org/display/JETTY/JAAS) results in:

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.mortbay.jetty.plus.jaas.JAASUserRealm

The JAAS stuff is supposed to ship with Jetty, but even with every Jetty package installed (jetty, libjetty-extra, libjetty-extra-java), I can't find this module (i.e. find / -name *JAASUserRealm* returns nothing).

Confirmed on Ubuntu 10.04.

However the jar containing these classes (jetty-plus.jar) has been restored in Ubuntu 12.04 and the current development release.

Marking 'Fix Released' and raising a task for 10.04.

Changed in jetty (Ubuntu Lucid):
status: New → Confirmed
importance: Undecided → Low
Changed in jetty (Ubuntu Precise):
status: New → Fix Released
Changed in jetty (Ubuntu Quantal):
status: New → Fix Released
