Bug Description

Binary package hint: evince

If I try to print some PDFs with evince per "HP LaserJet 5M Foomatic/Postscript" the display on my printers shows me following error
"79 Service (01bf)"
and after that does nothing. I have to powercycle it to get it responsible again.

The problem
- does not appear when printing with evince per "HP LaserJet 5M - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.5 Simplified"
- does not appear when printing with epdfview and "HP LaserJet 5M Foomatic/Postscript"
- does not appear when printing with Windows 7 and its Postscript-driver
Only with evince and postscript. So I think that a hardware failure can be ruled out.

I will attach the PDF.
As a sidenote: I tried to print 2 pages from the PDF on one page from the printer if that matters.

For me the problem is replicable with any PDF generated with OpenOffice. None of those would be printed when trying to do it from evince with PS on my LaserJet 5M. Even those I don't try to print with two pages per sheet of paper.

Problem still persists in a clean install 10.10 alpha1.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
