Bug Description

Thanks for Your help.

On May 19th I copied a folder into ~/Ubuntu One - I verified that all the files have been uploaded (after some time) using u1sdtool.

Since May 19th, everyday after log in, U1 client uploads again always the same file. The folder contains 29 files. Among all these files, U1 repeats to upload always the same. The other 28 files are more or less 1~2 MBytes large each. The 29th file is 88 MBytes large. After the daily upload is finished, the file seems to be really uploaded, checking both the local directory u1sdtool. Anyway, the next day, U1 client uploads it again. Today, is the 4th day this happens...

Furthermore, I'm not able to find the uploaded large file into the U1 webpages interface: it seems that the file has not uploaded there.

Please, see the attached log files of U1 client. I noticed that some "INTERNAL ERROR" has been traced into the log file of syncdaemon, but I not able to understand the reason.

Ciao from Italy.

Cesare,
Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulty with Ubuntu One. Could be that the large file is not getting uploaded before you power down. The upload has been slower than it should be since 10.04 release. The U1 team has been working to improve the speed. With the exception of a few bad days speed does seem to be improving. Is their anyway you can leave your computer on overnight to give the file time to upload? What do you get when you run the following in a Terminal:

u1sdtool -s

After you make additional comments or attach logs, please change the 'Status' of your bug back to 'New'. The status of a bug report can be modified by clicking on the current status in the yellow line, which will reveal a sub menu. You can then set a new status in the drop down box.

thank you,

Thanks for Your comment. I "traced" the U1 behaviour using:
   watch -n 10 "u1sdtool -s && u1sdtool --current-transfers"

This way I viewed the upload going on for some time, with the progress of the bytes flowing up to the server. Then I powered down the computer after u1sdtool showed me that no more transfers were in progress.

I have apparently observed the same behavior (recurrent upload of large files, like 80 MB). After prolonged network activity and sending 80+ MB according to System Monitor, the file was checked as "synchronized". However, it didn't appear on the file storage (accessed through web interface), and on next restart the upload repeated. I've set up that computer for a relative and therefore don't have access to it now.

still having this issue with all the updates installed? If so comment

Many thanks for Your reply. Please, consider that the bug was issued on May 2010. Since then, many events happened into Ubuntu community ... now I can say that UbuntuOne is working good for me about this issue. Therefore the bug now is no more existing.
