Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook Series: D250-1417 Model#: KAV60 with built in Microphone and Camera. It runs Ubuntu 10.04 netbook edition and it identifies the camera but not the microphone. There is no noise at all. It works only with sound recorder but skype and empathy theres no sound. I tried going to sound, input and there is no option for my microphone.

I am noticing this same issue using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as well. The last time this bug was updated was May 2010.

The internal Microphone does not appear in the Input list and is unavailable to applications e.g., Google Talk Voice/Video plugin, etc.
