Bug Description

It would be good to have an API for the Me Menu.

I'm writing a micro-blogging application (connectr) and it would be nice to be able to link into the me menu, so that my program would be listed alongside twitter, facebook etc (when it's installed and active).

Regarding that this is a proposal, this would be better off as a blueprint:

Well, fine, turn it into a blueprint. Don't just mark it "Invalid" and leave it at that. As a non-participant in the indicator-me project, I don't really feel it's my place to make new blueprints, particularly when it would be the first (so, for all I know, the project is not using blueprints but some other mechanism).

I think making it "wishlist" makes sense. It would be nice, though I don't know if anyone will have time to work on it.

Very very much wanted. There are a plethora of instant messaging and twitter and facebook clients etc. it would be awesome if they could be integrated in the memenu via an api! Not everyone likes gwibber and empathy.
