Are you sure the CD is ok? You can verify this by choosing the "Check CD for defects" option in the main menu which appears right after the CD starts.

If the CD turns out to be ok, could you please attach /var/log/installer/syslog, /var/log/syslog, and /var/log/partman to this bug, by commenting on the bug's web page? Thanks in advance.

This may be a duplicate of bug 47046 but we need the log files to be sure. Please let us know whether you will be able to provide them.

I'll close the bug now; please reopen it if you are able to supply the requested files at some point. (you would have to repeat the install attempt with the same Live CD to get them)

Further information:

Since this is a Live CD based installer you have likely lost the original log files when you turned off or rebooted the machine. In that case the only way to get the log files is to reproduced the install procedure (with the crash) and upload the files directly from the Live CD. Please let us know if you are able to do that at this stage.

To upload the files you need to run firefox from the Live CD session where the installer crashed, visit this bug page and click on 'Add a comment/attachment' at the bottom of the page. Click Browse and navigate to the requested files in /var/log.
