Bug Description

Tried to install MariaDB-server-5.1.42-68.el5.x86_64.rpm on RHEL Server ( 2.6.18-194.el5 #1 SMP Tue Mar 16 21:52:39 EDT 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux). The server would not start because the /var/log/mysql directory did not exist. I had to create the directory, set the owner and permissions before I could succesfully start the mysql server.
