Blank error bubble for aliases on regex compile message

Bug Description

Compiling the "^mmdefs(?: (\w+)?$" pattern for an alias gave a blank error message, instead of saying that there is an unbalanced paranthesis.

Same for (? ).

It can also mess up and recall the last error shown: http://forums.mudlet.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4610&start=20#p21793.
