Bug Description
Binary package hint: hal
/var/log/kern.log is full of:
sdb : READ CAPACITY failed.
sdb : status=0, message=00, host=7, driver=00
sdb : sense not available.

and again for each of 'sdc', 'sdd', 'sde'. Only 'sda' (the main laptop disk) is present on the system. The checks are occuring once *per second* for each of the disks. Possibly this is because of something like 'hald-addon-

Confirmed:
sudo killall hald-addon-storage
stopped the messages; this is probably related to the libata/SATA changes in edgy.
