Bug Description
When 'totem-
I used such a command in cGmail 0.6.1 to play a jingle on incoming mail, and noticed that pulseaudio is taking >25% of CPU time although no sound is audible.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Oneiric Ocelot.
