Trying Alt+F2 ---> gnome-settings-daemon restrored the theme... so i suppose that app crashed too.

in the screenshots it can be seen that the "o" letter is somehow distorted and appears as a strange "M", like from another font type. The other observation is that this is metacity window manager... so, this bug is not only happening in compiz. The other important observation is that the problem was solved restarting firefox and later restarting metacity. Restarting metacity with firefox distorted did not fixed the problem.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
