Bug Description

I'm using the Chromium web browser version 6.0.401.0 (46946) with lightspark-0.3.3. The Chromium about:plugins page lists:

  Shockwave Flash
  Description: Shockwave Flash 10.0 r03
  Location: /usr/lib64/lightspark/plugins/liblightsparkplugin.so

But when trying to visit a page using flash like the Adobe test page or youtube, I only get a square with "Missing Plugin" where the videa should be.

Support for chromium has not yet been considered. Moreover, it could be currently impossible for license reasons. It will be considered after relicensing.

The plugin did work in chrome for me on ubuntu 10.04, then after i updated it a few days back it stopped working and reported the "missing plugin" error message.

Note: The plugin also stopped working for me in firefox, so i'm not saying i have the same issue, just that the plugin DID work in chrome(didn't try in chromium) with the ppa i installed a little while back.

Any support for chromium is currently quite accidental, as I've never tested it. If it somehow worked maybe support is not far though. Tobias, what do you mean by "The plugin also stopped working for me in firefox"? Could you please check that version 0.4.0 RC1 works on firefox please?

According to documentation about chromium from Google, a plugin using the implementation API and mechanism for Firefox should also work in Chromium.

So, I suppose that Tobias means that it is not working now under Firefox and Chromium, but it was working in both previously.

When I try to use Lightspark with Chromium, the following shows up in the terminal:

The Website I used to test this, was youtube (HD Video). Instet of the Video a box with "Missing Plugin" showed up. (like discribed before in this bugreport) The first error msg seems to indicate that this behavior maybe isn't lightsparks fault.
Or the problem is me, because lightspark also does not work in firefox on my machine. (no terminal output here, just plain nothing) I'm using Gentoo AMD64 with lightspark 0.4.1 installed from portage (gentoos "packet" manager)

Chrome support will come for free when the plugin will be migrated from xt to to gtk

About the 'lightspark not showing up' issue check that the directory in which the ls plugin is installed is searched for plugins by firefox. You may also try to remove the adobe player or any other plugin registering itself as an swf interpreter. It seems that firefox sometimes behaves bad with different plugins for the same type.
