Bug Description
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
Hi,
After upgrading to lucid from karmic, some (not all) openoffice documents (either odp, ods or odt) can not be opened anymore from cifs network drive, while they can be opened if copied on a local hard drive.
Openoffice crashed at startup with the following message
OpenOffice.org Document Recovery
Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed. All the files you were working on will now be saved.
The next time OpenOffice.org is launched, your files will be recovered automatically.
The following files will be recovered:
The problem occurs with both openoffice from the official repository and debs from www.openoffice.org.
My network drives are mounted using fstab
//filer/epbx/ /media/Euros_EPBX cifs credentials=
If a problematic file is converted in xls, it is correctly opened by openoffice.
Moreover, by sliglhtly modifying (deleting a graph, and/or a column and/or other things) problematic files on the local drive, and then copying back to the network (with same permissions and owner), I can open them again, but I was not able to find any systematic requirement.
I enclose three files:
notopened.ods: a ods file that I can't open from the network whereas it can be opened on my local drive
opened.xls: the same file converted in xls which is successfully opened from the network
opened.ods: the same file in which I delete the first column, and that can open from the network
This bug has already be mentionned there http://
I stay at your disposal for any further information.
Yours truly

I have this bug since I upgraded to lucid about three month ago. I use pyNeighborhood with the command
sudo mount.cifs
and the parameters
iocharset=
There is no additional output when starting OpenOffice via command line.
Best regards.
