The "redis-server" package in lucid is still at 1.2.0, while the most current stable release is 1.2.6. There were a few critical bug fixes between 1.2.0 and 1.2.6. See also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/redis/+bug/578188 for a related bug.

1.2.6 has been added to Maverick already: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/redis/+changelog
