Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox in Lucid now features tighter integration with the desktop via libnotify. Unfortunately some plugins (such as the GMail Notifier) produce incredibly ugly and intrusive notification popups. There should be an option to use Firefox's internal notification system (even if it is off by default).

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Firefox currently uses its internal notification system in Lucid. Could you please show a screenshot of what you are referring to?

Do Kubuntu bugs not go here too, or is there a separate place for them?

@debfx
Is the screenshot attached to this bug using Firefox's internal notifications or something else?

It doesn't look like the default Firefox internal notifications.
Maybe some other extension hooks into the notifications or the extension itself uses its own notification system.

From the looks of things this is more of a Kubuntu (or KDE) problem that a general Ubuntu problem. Perhaps I should check with some other Kubuntu users first.

Do you have any Firefox extensions installed that might change the notifications (maybe provide additional KDE integration)?
