Bug Description

Binary package hint: cups

After upgrading from Karmic to Lucid, my Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet J2100 series printer is no longer working. The printer does not show up in the system-config-printer application anymore, although I can see it if I run lsusb from a shell.

OK, well it seems that cups was simply not started, although there is no indication why, and the only reason could have been the upgrade, which I performed using the upgrade tool on the update manager.

Oh, and I did upgrade some cups-related packages prior to starting the troubleshooter on the printing administration tool. Not sure if that also helped resolve it.

Same problem. HP 1012. Was working, suddenly not. Device shows up in lsusb. Not sure how to debug.
