After around 100 pages scanned, app crashes without notice

Bug Description
Everything works very fine, until I reach around ~100 pages scanned/open inside the application. It has happened twice in a row by now (i reached ~100 pages twice by now)
Unsaved pages are lost.
I'm running Simple Scan under Ubuntu 10.4 32bit.

Looks like it ran out of memory, marking as duplicate of bug 525441
