dropdown menu does not show up at mouse pointer

If you open multiple streams a small icon with a drop-down menu appears in the upper left corner of the stream. With desktop-effects enabled I can click 20 times on that button and the menu is rendered 15 times at the correct position directly below the button I clicked. But 5 times the menu shows up in the top or bottom left corner of my screen. With desktop-effects disabled the drop-down menu is always rendered at the wrong place (upper left corner of the screen the window currently resides in). I attached a screenshot of it..
I use lucid lynx, have two screens and an ATI card with the latest drivers installed.

I have no desktop effects enabled. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04. This bug appears regularly, usually after the first time the menu is opened. I've uploaded a video of the bug in action to my website.

I should mention that in that video I was using Gwibber 2.31.1 from the bzr nightlies that I downloaded a couple days ago.

I think this is kind of fixed, it now seems to appear lined up where the dropdown goes, but the top isn't necessarily aligned. Can anyone else confirm this?
