just startup for 2-3 seconds, then crash .

there is another error log when I uninstall your one and change to original mplayer come with lucid:

There is something wrong in the constructor of OpenAL. strace says it closed STDIN so mplayer ends up reading garbage from fd 0. Disable audio output "openal" then everything works fine.

I just wonder should I recompile the mplayer or I can pass one params to mplayer?

I use the command "sudo mplayer -vo vdpau -ao alsa /media/6B幌/Discovery\ HD_The\ Beauty\ Of\ Snakes_720p.x264_DD5.1.avi", the result is the same.

which params should I pass to mplayer?

Since it happens at init stage, using a different vo won't help. I recompiled it.

so I can't update from this ppa to solve this problem.

Could you tell me the compile params which will make me easy to recompile it since this is the first time to compile it to utilize the vdpau encoding.
