Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Openoffice suite does not work at all. Just splash screen of OpenOffice appears and thats all. Also problems with installing any programs. They work but there is always message about error in openoffice.org-filter-binfilter. Reinstalling of this component or office did not help. So will use Gnome Office until this bug will be resolved.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Does uninstalling and reinstalling openoffice.org help resolve this problem?

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
