Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I came home from school hoping to find the upgrade finished, but instead I got an error message. The last line reads:

E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I was trying to upgrade from Kubuntu 9.04 to 10.04 LTS.

I don't know what I should do because I'm fairly new to Linux. I tried to zip the dist-upgrade package, but apparently the software isin't very functional. I did however gz what I could...

If anyone can help me out, that would be great.

Thanks!
