Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in update-manager.
(With many applications, you can report a future bug directly on the appropriate package by opening the application's "Help" menu and choosing "Report a Problem". https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs)

It seems to me that the error message barre87 got has nothing to do with the upgrade not proceeding. I think it has to do with this line in the main log:

2010-05-13 11:18:13,787 ERROR IOError/SystemError in cache.update(): 'Il server potrebbe essere sovraccarico'. Retrying (currentRetry: 0)
2010-05-13 11:18:13,787 ERROR doUpdate() failed completely

Which, thanks to Google Translate, means that the server is overloaded.

Download failed on every repo that apt tried to update.

That's why the upgrade didn't go through.
