Trace bitmap is not getting proper colors (regression)

Tracing bitmap results in a black result, with no other colors except black.

Please see the attached screenshot for more information.

I think, this might be related to incorrect image rendering with a different alpha (in the latest inkscape), please see other bugs about posterized image colors, incorrect image rendering with a different alpha.

Version r9404 / Win32 is used.

I don't see how would be related to the rendering issue on-canvas of imported bitmaps with differently assigned object opacity values. To help us reproduce can you please attach the original bitmap image you used for tracing in Inkscape?

Not reproduced with Inkscape 0.47 and Inkscape 0.47+devel r9410 on OS X 10.5.8

Your image doesn't use transparency and the result of your 'posterized' B&W tracing depends on your chosen settings in the tracing dialog. Please see the manual for more information: <http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Trace.html>

IMHO while the result may have been unexpected for you, it is not a bug in Inkscape (see attached screenshot of Inkscape r9410, tracing created with 'Brightness cutoff, Threshold 0.70, other settings are unchanged from default).
