Bug Description

Inkscape has a nice whiteboard (collaborative edition) using XMPP. Its activation in Edgy is a matter of compilation option. Could this feature be enabled ?

I know the efforts around inkboard quite well and I thought about
including the option in the debian package. But since there are some
bug (besides security risks) which are being worked on, I decided not to
enable this feature and wait for the next release when it has matured a
little.

Understood. i figured you'd heard of it, but i couldn't find any
explicit documentation about the decision to enable this feature or
not, hence the report.

However, i've been playing around with it the last couple days with
this patch, and i can't really get it to work right at all. So i was
probably premature in even submitting this bug. i think you've made
the right decision for this version.

If i can figure out the problems i'm having, i'll try to send patches
upstream so the feature will be a bit more ready for 0.44.

Thanks again for all your work on this package.

Now that Inkscape 0.44 is out, would it be possible to activate the

Thanks for your bug. There is a debug bug about that: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=343852. According to the comment the feature is still being worked and security is to consider. We should probably better wait for it to become stable and for the Debian package to activate it too
