Bug Description

Binary package hint: emacs-snapshot

I am using emacs-snapshot on 10.04 with 3d drivers (nvidia).

The emacs display has lines through the font. Illegible really. Will attach a screenshot.

I removed my .emacs, same problem.

ok, this is weird.

from bug #291399, I got the idea to 'xrdb -remove .Xresources'. This fixes the problem (although I don't get my desired font).

My .Xresources is:
Emacs*font: -bitstream-courier 10 pitch-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-m-0-iso8859-1
Emacs.font: Monospace-10

Bizarre!! I encountered the same problem, and the same fix solved it.

Thanks so much for posting.

Did you ever figure out exactly what was going on?

This is probably a driver problem. Shauna: if you too have the nvidia driver, I would redirect this bug there. Please confirm.
