I've started work importing all sound tarballs into Debian packages.

Don't mean to just take this away, but part of what I am working with the Debian Pkg-VoIP team on is this set of packages. Most likely, by the time we are done, we'll be syncing this from Debian as well.

That is fine, Tzafrir already has a set of packages in the Debian
pkg-voip repo, we should use them.

That was the plan. They'll have to be modified just a tad because some of the installation directories are changing a bit (/usr/share/asterisk will now only *hold* sound files and /var/lib/asterisk will be the data directory, as it should be) but the major part of the packaging is already done by Tzafrir.
