writer hangs importing a pasted document

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I'm using kubuntu lucid and writer from the distro package,
OOO 3.2.0 320m12 build 9483

step to reproduce:

open the page http://osr600doc.sco.com/en/FD_create/vi_summary.html
copy the whole page
open writer
paste the page
at the bottom line writer writes "importing documents", but nothing happens

the ooo team rejected the bug as it's not present on their distro

I made a tentative to change the "Binary package hint"
from openoffice.org to openoffice.org-writer,
but the last one is not accepted in this page,
it says 'No items matched "openoffice.org-writer".'

Which exact version of openoffice.org packages are you using? You can see it on the bottom line of the about box. I can' t reproduce this version with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with OOo version 1:3.2.0-7ubuntu4.

update:

at 12:43 soffice ended succesfully the import
(lanched at 12:08, but I have stoped via gdb to fetch some info)
so it is not faulting but simply really really slow.

I can't even reproduce the slow down in pasting, it pastes fine for me without hanging in under 2 seconds in any case. Do you happen to have a really slow internet connection?

Also the version string I am talking about is at the very bottom of the about box, just above the OK button. I think from what you have told me it should be:

ooo-build 3.2.0.10, Debian 1:3.2.0-7ubuntu4

my internet connection is pretty good,

This bug report doesn't have enough information for a developer to begin working on the problem.
I'm afraid I can't reproduce the problem here on Maverick, LibreOffice 3.3.
If you find a new way we could reproduce this please set the status back to 'New'
