Check if you have frei0r-plugins installed - it is a missing dependency in the Lucid install.

hi there i have the same problem... after using the deinterlace effect openshot crashes
i saved my project after adding the effect and now i can't load the project again.

i have installaet frei0r-plugins and tried to reinstall openshot but it doesn't work
i think it would help to turn off the preview before i load my project file...

im using 10.04 with latest patches...

Thanks

I added the above depends and it repaired the problem.
Should work on my 64bit install as well.

Ubuntu 10.04 32bit

In addition to my above post deinterlace gives a seg fault but all of the other effects work well.

Please keep up the most excellent work.

Thank you

Still crashes after installing frei0r-plugins. Both version 1.1.3-1 that comes with Ubuntu Lucid and today's trunk work. Is there a roadmap for this bug, or any other workarounds? My camera produces interlaced files, and I can't use OpenShot now.

This effect has been removed from Openshot 1.2 - this is due to the segfaults with the current repository versions of MLT. It does work with the latest 0.5.10 release of MLT, so we'll add this effect back in once 0.5.10 or later is in the repositories.

Changed in openshot:
status: New → Fix Committed
