Bug Description

Binary package hint: simple-scan

Scanning a document freeze the application (simple-scan) with ieee1394 and document is not complete.

with USB is OK... only ieee1394 crash application and scanner...

Does this still occur with recent versions of Simple Scan / sane-backends? It looks like a driver bug.

Does the scan always hang or only sometimes?

CurrentDmesg.txt contains several sessions of the scanner being connected via 1394 (and maybe via USB in between). In the first session, but not in any subsequent ones, is a SCSI read transaction time-out logged. That time-out was unrecoverable, hence the kernel's SCSI core took the device offline. Basically the 1394 firmware of the scanner became unresponsive. The subsequent sessions do not show any sign of problems in the kernel log.

Is SimpleScanLog.txt from the first session or from a later one?
