Binary package hint: gnome-games

There is a new chess engine based on Glaurung called Stockfish, which glchess should support. There is already a package for stockfish...

This should be fixed in Ubuntu 10.10 now. If the version in Ubuntu 10.04 gets the stable update to 2.30.2 it will be fixed there, too. Thanks for reporting.
