Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this report until more information is provided. Could you please give us a more in-depth description of the problem you are experiencing? Also, if there are any steps you can provide to reproduce this issue (any specific sites this happens on for example) that would be much appreciated.

Thank you for responding. Firefox 3.6 as installed in ubuntu 10.04.
Firefox loads slow, and opens pages slow. All sites open but it takes 20 to 30 sec to finish.
I installed the Google Chromium Web Browser and it workes great.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A75, running dual boot 10.04 and xp.
I looked at a few forums and it seams this may be a firefox issue.
I was running ubuntu 9.10. I did a clean install of 10.04 when this issue came up.

Would you mind running Firefox in a terminal (just run 'firefox') and let us know what output you get? Thanks!

Recently switch from modem to wireless router though still using hardwire into router. Download of files - speed improved. Firefox 3.6.3 now takes 2 to 3 --minutes-- to open web page completely e.g. uk.yahoo.com and this site. Installed Mint 8 with slight improvement but had to re-install ubuntu 10.04. Running on desktop pc, amd sempron 3400+ processor, 2mb ram.

@estil
Was there any output in the terminal when you ran Firefox from it?

I've got the same problem. There's nothing in the Terminal.

I think it aren't network problems, because http://localhost opens very slow as well although file:///home/... is working as expected.
Opera and Chrome are working fine.

I already fixed it (for myself). Some network settings were wrong.

Preferences > Advanced > Connection Settings.

Auto-detect proxy settings was selected. I changed it to No proxy and that worked very well!

Well, I don't know why, but it seems that firefox is running very slowly, and takes lots of the resources!
This bug is affecting me too. I have a fast internet connection (WLAN) and I can surf using opera normally. But with firefox you have to wait for a long time till the program starts, and then sometimes wait longer until the pages are loaded!
These problems began after an update of firefox on Ubuntu 9.10, shortly before 10.04 came out. I thought that through upgrading the system this will vanish but the same problem appeared again. The problem is just facing firefox, not other browsers. What I noticed is that the netbook is too busy when trying to load a webpage, including this site! In the past firefox was fast enough.

Firefox is so slow that I was in the mean time able to start Google's Chrome and to reach mail.yahoo.com faster than Firefox took to just open the same page!!!
