Bug Description

Binary package hint: kicker

In SUSE Linux, starting from 10.0, there is a search bar in the K Menu which allows to search among the menu entries throughout the tree.

Basically when you enter something into it, it disables all those entries whose name or description does not contain the entered text. Then it is a simple matter of pressing the right-arrow keys a couple of times to locate the desired item.

I know Kubuntu ships with Katapult, which is supposed to provide similar functionality, but Katapult is not up to form. See bug #57737. The search bar would be much more useful, IMO. If I could vote for this feature, I would.
