I also appear to get exactly the same output. I'll have a look and see if there's anything about this.

According to http://ftp.debian.org/pool/main/t/tagua/, version 1.0~alpha2-9 was made available last month. I might give that one a try and see if it works any better.

It seems that attempting to install it leads to dependency problems.

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of tagua:
 tagua depends on libkdecore5 (>= 4:4.4.0); however:
  Package libkdecore5 is not installed.
 tagua depends on libkdeui5 (>= 4:4.3.4); however:

 tagua depends on libkio5 (>= 4:4.3.4); however:
  Package libkio5 is not installed.
dpkg: error processing tagua (--install):

It's probably not going to work out of the box on Ubuntu. This is probably as far as I can go with regard to this. If there's anything I should do to help, let me know.

I have applied the patch for version 2-9 from Maverick onto the original source package. Building the package was successful and resulted in a working application.

Solution: Download tagua_1.0~alpha2-9, both the .diff.gz and the .dsc files from the Maverick page. Apply to tagua_1.0~alpha2.orig.tar.gz, dpkg-buildpackage, install and it should work fine.

If anyone still cannot run the app successfully, please let me know.
