Bug Description
Binary package hint: usplash
On Lucid's new boot screen, if it begins running a fsck, I have two controls: Esc (switch to console) and C (cancel fsck). The instructions for pressing C to cancel are displayed on-screen.
If I switch to console by pressing Esc, I can switch back to the graphical boot screen by hitting Esc again.
However, once switched back, the instructions for pressing C to cancel are no longer displayed. Nor does C have any effect (from either the console or the graphical boot screen). Thus there is no way to cancel the fsck operation.
Running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, with proprietary nVidia driver installed.
uname -a:
Linux avalon 2.6.32-21-generic #32-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 16 08:10:02 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
I couldn't upload /boot/grub/menu.lst or /etc/usplash.conf, as neither file exists (have they moved in Lucid?)
The usplash package has been superseded by plymouth and has been removed from the Ubuntu archive. Closing all related bugs.
