Bug Description

Binary package hint: ghostscript

When I create a drawing in OpenOffice consisting of rectangle with white fill and a black border, the rectangle will be filled with yellow when I print it. I've tried changing most printing options (color correction, temperature, etc), this doesn't make a difference.

This did not occur on Karmic. I tracked it down to ghostscript: if I compile and install the ghostscript packages from Karmic in Lucid, the problem goes away.

I will attach a sample document and the resulting PostScript that is sent to the printer. The printer is a Xerox 6180MFP, which is a color printer with PS support.

Ubuntu version:

  Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
  Release: 10.04

Installed ghostscript packages (this is with the packages from Karmic, when the problem doesn't occur):

Can you also attach the original OpenOffice.org file? Thanks.

That's attachment #1 (http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47919908/rectangle.odg).

It is possible that the proposed fix for bug 539708 also solves your problem. Please go there and try out the fix.

In my report I stated that running the Karmic ghostscript on Lucid didn't show any problems. This was incorrect. It doesn't seem to be a ghostscript problem, so I've marked this bug as Invalid. I'll investigate some more and reopen or refile if necessary.

Thanks for your attention, anyway :-)
